Keeping warm during the winter months no longer means bundling up with a lot of bulky clothes. Outside Magazine found many new high tech fabrics that will keep you warm on the slopes and stylish in the city. Nick Heil, the senior editor of the magazine, visited The Saturday Early Show to show us the latest outdoor clothing for winter. The biggest trends in the outdoor apparel industry this year are the widespread use of "stretch wovens" durable nylon or polyester fabrics constructed to be highly wind and water resistant, yet extremely breathable. The industry has dubbed the products "soft shells," because they generally have a soft feel, and a more relaxed style. The second trend is the return of wool. Garment companies are using very soft merino wool and wool blends in sweaters, shirts and jackets with great success. This new wool is itch free because of its fine threads. And it offers great temperature range cool when it's hot, warm and cozy when it's not! Also new this year, outdoor gear designers are taking their cues from fashion houses when styling garments. The result is high tech and durable outdoor wear that won't leave you looking like you just got back from an Everest expedition. Here are some recommendations from Outside Magazine: Gravis Beanie: Look inside Gravis's wool cap and you'll find a fleece liner around the forehead and ears to add an extra measure of warmth and protection from the wind ($24). Salomon STL pants: Made from Schoeller stretch woven mixed with bombproof Cordura, these slim fitting pants are lined with fleece to keep you warm. The off center zipper on the back ensures a great fit ($240). Blurr Focus Hoodie: From the hottest little company in Canada, Blurr's polyester lightweight fleece are woven to look like your favorite sweater on the outside but soft and warm on the inside ($92). Isis Niobe Down Jacket: Designed by women for women, this down jacket from Isis delivers the value and beautiful colors that Isis is known for ($160). Merrel Duet Scale Boots: Water and stain resistant suede boot with sticky rubber tread and air cushioned sole ($80). Atlas Electra 8 Series Women's Snowshoes: These snowshoes are designed around a women's boot fit. Atlas also shaved off the clearance on the inside of the foot so women can now walk more naturally ($170). Blur Specter Jacket: The jacket also comes from the tiny Vancouver, Canada company, Blurr. It uses Polartec PowerShield, a stretchy fabric that features a fleece lining on the inside and a water resistant/wind resistant woven look on the outside. Zippers are waterproof to keep the moisture out ($270). Icebreaker Rip Zip Shirt: You can wear this fine Merino wool shirt under a jacket as a light sweater or simply wear it around town as a shirt. It's machine washable, so wear it as often as you like. Thumbholes on the cuff keep your wrists protected when you slide on some gloves. ($120). Ibex Alpstar Pant: This small Vermont company has been doing wonders with wool. The company mated a toasty warm Merino wool fleece on the inside with a tough, yet stretchy nylon on the outside. The pants are good for a multitude of winter activities. Best of all, they're machine washable. ($185). Gravis Cirque Boots: The Cirque's are the perfect mountain/town boots. The water resistant suede boots slip on and off with no fussing with laces when your hands are frozen ($95). K2 Parka Snowboard: The snowboard was built for the halfpipe and freestyle parks cropping up at every ski hill. The Parka lets you ride "switch," meaning it's dialed to let you ride in control either backwards or forwards ($650 (includes K2 V9 Plasma bindings). Nike Sphere ACG Jacket: Sphere's a totally new fabric technology from Nike that uses egg carton shaped construction on the inside to create air pockets to trap your body heat and keep you warm. A snug, lightweight fit makes it easy to wear under a rain/snow shell or by itself for a multitude of activities ($115). Ibex Neve Jacket: Ibex uses a fine Merino wool fleece on the inside of this all purpose jacket to keep you warm and wick away sweat. But, the outside is an abrasion resistant Cordura/nylon blend that makes this a jacket that'll last and last ($260). Salomon Bonded Wool Pants: By marrying wool felt with a tough nylon mesh, Salomon made these supremely warm slope pants exceptionally tough. They won't tear under extreme conditions ($150). REI Jacket If you want value, it's hard to beat REI. And thanks to their new apparel designer from the GAP, you get a little style with that function. The "softshell" piece features a water resistant, yet breathable fabric that stretches with your body. A year ago, a jacket like this would've cost you over $300. This year the price dropped by $100 to $198. Arc'Teryx Stinger Hoodie: Arc'Teryx is a Vancouver, Canada company renowned for innovation and style. The Stinger hoodie uses a high performance Schoeller Dryskin fabric that stays warm, yet breathes so you don't get clammy ($200). Cloudveil Koven Jacket: This small company based in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, is run by a group of outdoor enthusiasts who really know what works in the elements. They've ended up creating top notch gear like this "hardshell," which is built for the most severe conditions, but looks great as an everyday coat. It utilizes a proprietary stretch fabric that is highly weather proof and breathable ($365). Marmot Tallac Jacket: This ski parka utilizes the new "Airvantage" system from Gore, the folks who brought you Gore Tex. Inflate the built in air chamber and you increase the jacket's insulation. Let the air out for less bulk and less warmth ($350). Marmot Adamant Jacket: Marmot asked Canadian heli ski guides to design their ultimate jacket, and this is what they came up with. It's a wool blend, with Polartec Powershield panels. Very warm and durable, yet casual enough that the guides could wear it full time and not look like they're about to hop on the helicopter ($250). Patagonia Core Skin Jacket: This stretch woven shell is engineered for activities such as extreme as serious ice climbing, but styled for everyday use. Patgonia weds a durable stretch woven nylon exterior to their proprietary Regulator insulation. Very warm and functional, with a fit like your old denim jacket ($249). Patagonia Down Jacket: Simply put, goose down is has the best warmth to weight ratio of any insulation. Patagonia uses only the best goose down for superior loft, even after it has been packed into its stuff sack on a long trip. The jacket is simple, elegant and a great value ($199). A lot of companies actually have HR manuals that outline specific attire requirements for their employes things like wearing closed toed shoes, a blazer or jacket at all times and stockings with skirts so check with HR department first to find out if there are any particular dos or don'ts before you put together an outfit on the flip side companies now a days are becoming a little bit more lenient about what their employes wear, such as a casual Friday, you might be able to wear nice jeans. Again this is Christina Lauren with Inspirations Celebrations at Deborah C in Carmel, California showing you how to dress casual for work. Thanks for watching. Women Nike Free 4.0 Dark Grey Reflect Silver Fireberry,Do you, like me, think that proper manners are going the way of the dinosaur? Do you think it's too late to teach your children proper manners? It's not! Follow the steps below and you will have polite little citizens in no time! Start At The Beginning. As soon as your children are able to talk, they can be taught proper manners. "Please" and "thank you" are the beginning steps, and the basics, and your child can learn them starting on day one. When your son hands you a toy, say, "thank you." If you are asking your daughter to stop screeching, say "please." You will soon find them repeating your example. Be Repetitious. Small children learn by repetition and consistency. EVERY time you ask your child for something, say, "please." EVERY time they give you something, say, "Thank you." If they demand something, tell them that they must say "please" before they can have it. Remind them constantly of their manners. They will quickly learn that manners are the norm and that they must use them. They will learn that in order to get what they want, they will have to be polite. Model Good Manners. If you yawn or cough or sneeze without covering your mouth, how can you expect your child to do it? If you don't say, "Excuse me" when you are interrupting a conversation, they will never learn to. The best way to teach your child common courtesy is to model it yourself! Teach Phone Manners. Teach your child to answer the phone by identifying herself. "Hello, this is Suzie Q speaking." When you are otherwise indisposed, teach them to say, "Mom is unavailable right now. May I take a message?" When you are available, teach them to say, "Yes, she is right here. Would you hold a moment please?" You will be so pleased when your friend or business associate calls and compliments you on the way your children answer the phone. Teach Eye Contact. When your child is speaking to an adult, teach him to look the adult in the eye and speak clearly. Mumbling or checking out his shoes is inappropriate and unacceptable. When an adult asks a question, the child should give a polite answer. Ignoring an adult, or anyone who speaks to a you, is rude and grounds for punishment. Parents tend to excuse a child from this polite behavior by saying, "Oh she's shy," when really she just hasn't been taught the proper way to be respectful of an adult. Teach Them To Write Thank You Notes. Another lost art form is the thank you note. When a child receives a gift, before he can play with it, a thank you note should be written. Someone went to a lot of trouble to purchase that gift, and it takes but a few minutes to express appreciation for it. Older children can write a nice letter, smaller children can draw a nice picture and write, "Thank You." The littlest ones can tell mom or dad what to write, and sign their names or scribble on the paper. The person who receives the note will be tickled. These are just a few small ways to start your child down the path to good manners. Before you know it, they will be polite little ladies and gentlemen, and will have you to thank for a great start!

Most are entering puberty and are between the ages of ten to fourteen, also known as the tween years. Social acceptance is of the utmost importance, as well as the need to fit in with the cool crowd. One of the ways to express individuality and at the same time gain social acceptance is learning dress cool. Different generations and schools have various interpretations of what it means to be cool. Depending on where you live and the overall social economic class of the kids that go to your school, being cool can mean different things. Here's what to keep in mind if you want to dress cool for middle school. Check the dress code. Before you go out and buy a bunch of clothes, you need to find out what guidelines you have to follow that your school enforces. As a general rule of thumb, clothes have to be somewhat conservative, so avoid short skirts and shorts and nothing too revealing. Some schools may have a ban on makeup or other high end clothing items and accessories. Check with the school handbook first. Be aware of the unspoken dress code. It's not written anywhere but all the kids will know what you can and cannot wear. Some items are just deemed unacceptable at school, based on what the cool kids have declared or some other random basis. Also, be mindful if certain colors can't be worn in your middle school because you may be associated with gang activity. Observe what the in kids are wearing. What are the popular kids wearing? Try to imitate their style if it's something that agrees with you. This is a safe way to dress cool and fit in. The popular kids are usually the trend setters in the school. Try to dress like a star. Think of pop icons that you can copy. Hannah Montana, Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez and other tween stars can be emulated in terms of their style. Give it your own twist. Making a style your own is what being cool is all about. For example, if a certain brand of shoes is all the rage, put your own mark in it to personalize it. Take Lady Gaga for example. She may not be in middle school, but she's able to wear trends with her own flair. She studded her designer bag in keeping with her personality. This is what you should do as well. Go designer. Going branded is a safe bet to look cool. If you're wearing 7 for Mankind jeans with a FUBU top, you're pretty much in. Know what designer brands are admired in your school and see if you can get it. However, don't wear fakes or knock offs. Faux is not cool. This can get costly, but if you consider that you'll wear the items for at least a year, you may be able to get some good mileage out of your clothes. Women Nike Free 4.0 Dark Grey Reflect Silver Fireberry Earn an Enlightened Living and Help OthersSharing the joys of meditation and yoga is not for everyone. For some it is a new commercial way to earn a living. For others it is a spiritual path they want to share. In this case there are good reasons to also make it a way to earn a living. Do you find that you always seem to be on a different path from most of the people you know? Though there is no guarantee a person will always be in a state of bliss with the discovery that they are on a spiritual path; the realization that life will never be the same again can hold more comfort than concern. The committed questor can leave behind most of the drama others engage in life. It isn't like those who choose this way get all the information they need all at once, though some few do. Most people find their learning covers a lifetime. Though there may be difficulties along the way; they know they have choices. One of those choices is how they sustain themselves. Many people find they just can't feel at home in traditional jobs and work roles. As a result they look for guidance on how to help themselves and still live a full, satisfying life. Frequently they find tools to help their own growth. Often meditation and yoga are part of their spiritual toolbox. These tools can also be a way to help others as well as a great source of income. New Opportunities for Earning a Spiritually Based Living Sharing Your Light Through Yoga and Meditation In the past, spiritual seekers sometimes gained the reputation of being bums as they attended retreats seeking more knowledge and understanding. They often had to work small, temporary jobs to finance their travels, but seldom had anything that could be called a career. They might have been seen as social outcasts, and even viewed as dangerous nonconformists, because they didn't meet traditional societal standards. Fortunately, thanks to leaders like Deepak Chopra, Oprah and Wayne Dyer there is a growing awareness and acceptance that has actually allowed Meditation and Yoga to become more mainstream. Studies have shown the mental and physical health benefits of these practices. People have begun to grasp the value of these teachings on a physical and mental level if not yet on a spiritual level. As a result there are more opportunities than ever for developing a career or business helping others gain more awareness as well as experience the benefits available from these types of classes. There is a great need for teachers to help raise the consciousness of the world and introduce more people to an enlightened path. One of the great gifts of teaching is that it deepens the teacher's knowledge and awareness along with the student's. The teacher finds they will stay focused on their own work so they can have more to give their students. They gain deeper relationships than a typical job would offer. They find themselves appreciated for what they give to their students. Yoga and Meditation Benefits Students and TeachersTeach a Healthier and Happier Way of LifeIt isn't difficult to find people who need your help and want classes when you show them what they will gain:
