GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) You have less than two months to dust off your sneakers and get in shape for this years Fifth Third River Bank Run. Tuesday, organizers of the event will announce some new plans as they gear up for race day. Over the past 3 decades, the River Bank Run has become a signature event for this community and for runners around the world. Kristen Aidif estimates roughly 21,000 people will participate in the event this year by either running the 25k; 10k; or 5k or doing the 5k walk or junior events. She says elite athletes travel from around the world to take part in the race, but say the majority of runners are local. "Elite athletes make up less than one 1% of the race. 98% are from our own back yard, from Kent and Ottawa counties," said Aidif. "Last year there were 38,000 spectators and 2,000 volunteers. The River Bank Run continues to be a positive event in the community." Every year, a number of WZZM 13 employees get involved. Take Five Producer, Eddie Rucker is training for her first race ever . In fact, Rucker says she has never run before but has been inspired by a recent commitment to fitness. "I take Zumba and at the Zumba class they mentioned 'hey, we are doing a couch to 5k and asked who wants to be in the couch to 5k run.' I said, 'Is it a walk run?' They said, 'Well you know they said you can walk if you can't learn to run but really we want you to learn how to run.' So, I said ok I will try it, since I'm trying to get in shape," said Rucker. "Never in my wildest dreams did I believe that I would be training for run. A walk possibly, but for a run, no. This is the first time for me for this. I've never ran before in my life so I don't know how to run. I'm training so I can learn how to run." Organizers say people like Rucker spend upwards of six months training for the event. Aidif credits the great weather West Michigan is having for early registration being up 14% from this time last year. Rucker says an early spring is definitely helping her stay motivated. "Ooh, the weather has been nice. I actually just started training for the 5k and it was really nice this past Saturday. On the first day of the 5k training we only did one minute of running and then a two minute session of running. This past Saturday, I ran a whole mile and I jogged a whole mile. I was so shocked. That's a victory for me. I know some people say 'that's nothing' but for me that is a victory," said Rucker. Aidif says Tuesday morning they will announce new things surrounding the anniversary including new technology that will allow participants as well as spectators to track weather conditions, runner's progress and other race related things. Barnes, a forward, signed for twoseasons and almost $4 million, which was quite a bit less than what the Cleveland Cavaliers offered. Ratliff, a center, signed for one season at the veteran's minimum salary of $1.35 million. Barnes, Ratliff and guard Steve Blake, who was signed earlier this month, represent significant upgrades for the Lakers, whose second unit was frequently outplayed even as the team charged to its second consecutive championship. Barnes, a former UCLA standout who played last season with the Orlando Magic, called signing with the Lakers "a dream come true!!!" on his Twitter feed. The 30 year old is known as a fine perimeter shooter and hard nosed defender. "Growing up in California, watching the Lakers play with Magic Johnson, James Worthy, Kareem (Abdul Jabbar), Byron Scott and Michael Cooper, it was a team that I always dreamed of playing for," Barnes told the Orlando Sentinel. He averaged 8.8 points and 5.5rebounds in 81 games last season with Orlando. He also showed he can be annoying to play against while helping the Magic defeat the Lakers in a March7 game in Orlando. Several Lakers complained after the game about Barnes' antics, including Lamar Odom, who likened him to professional wrestler Ric Flair. Odom said Barnes "picked the right game to act tough." Meanwhile, Ratliff gives the Lakers another big body in the paint. He would replace free agent Josh Powell, a seldom used backup forward who is set to sign with the Atlanta Hawks. "Theo has long been considered one of the best defensive big men in the league," Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak said in a statement. "He is a consummate professional and a welcome addition to our team. Together with Bynum, Gasol, Odom and Artest, he gives us a formidable and deep front line." The signings of Barnes and Ratliff give the Lakers only 11 players on their roster, two shy of the NBA minimum. It's likely they would sign draft picks Derrick Caracter and Devin Ebanks, who impressed during summer league play. Women Nike Free Run 2 Turquoise White Orange,Determine how often and when you will wear the suit. If you wear suits every day, do an inventory of what is already in your closet, so you can determine what else you need. Think about the image you want to project. For corporate offices, you will want to select a very plain suit that will enable you to fit in with the office culture, while people who work in less formal environments may opt for a suit with more flair to convey more personality. Think about how much you are willing to spend on this purchase. If you're on a budget, avoid trendy cuts and patterns, as these will quickly go out of style. Stick with basic colors like black, brown, blue, olive or gray, which can easily be worn with different ties to change the look. Be sure to coordinate your shirts with the tie and suit. Look for crisp whites or classic striped patterned shirts that will set off the suit well and will be in style for a long time. Your shirt and tie don't have to match your suit, but the color should complement it. For instance, a tie with a red or gold background can be worn with a navy, gray or black suit to give it some punch. If you have favorite shirts, ties, and shoes, bring them with you when you shop for a suit so you can see how the suit will look with these accessories. Keep in mind that the types of accessories you choose can allow you to update the look of a suit easily. If you want to show your fashion flair, consider accenting a conservative suit with a trendy tie, shoes and a belt. Different color and/or patterned shirts can also change your look instantly. Another way to change the look of a suit is by breaking it up into separates. Pair the jacket with a different pair of pants. Use the pants alone or with a sport jacket to make another outfit. This is a particularly good way to make your clothes go further when you travel. Shop at a better men's store so a salesperson can help you determine your size and some appropriate choices for your needs. Go for a good fit above all else. Try on different cuts and sizes to find the one that best suits you. You need to be comfortable in your suit and want to be sure you can move well in it. Remember to walk around in the suit and try moving your arms to see if the jacket is comfortable through the shoulders and back. The fit of the jacket is particularly important since this is a difficult piece to alter. Sit in the pants, and try putting your wallet and keys in the pockets to make sure there is room for them. Keep in mind that pants usually have extra fabric so they can be let out, or taken in, as needed. Check to see how much fabric there is if the pants need to be altered. Try on some expensive styles to see how a well tailored suit feels. If you like the quality but find this is out of your price range, ask the salesperson if they have seasonal sales or discounts at any time of year. You can also look for high quality suits at off price stores and outlet shops. Remember that classic suits don't change a lot from year to year, so see if you can find last year's models marked down. Don't just buy something on sale, though, if it isn't the right fabric or the right fit. Remember that sleeve and leg lengths can be tailored, but the shoulders and lapels can't be changed. Check the fabric and consider the season. Worsted wools and wool crepes are a good choice for warmer weather, while gabardine wools and flannels are heavier. A suit made either of 100 percent wool or a 50 percent wool blend is always a good choice.

That would be the first mass repatriation of North Koreans by Thailand, and a grave development indeed. If you have an account, please digg this. Two recent events, within twenty four hours of each other, give hope to us all. First, India and the United States signed a nuclear accord which will allow that Republic to develop technology to deter deter an unseemly neighbor (Pakistan) and a neighbor that should be deterred from war as much as possible (China). Meanwhile, North Korea continues to in her nuclear talks, which encourage Japan's nuclearization. This encourages Tokyo to develop technology to deter an unseemly neighbor (North Korea) and a neighbor that should be deterd from war as much as possible (China). When Pyongyang tested its first nuclear bomb two months ago, defying pleas from Beijing, it alienated itself from its only ally. The extent of that alienation has been revealed in essays by China's leading strategic thinkers. The bitter sense of betrayal felt in China about its communist neighbour, on whose behalf 360,000 soldiers, mainly volunteers, died during the Korean war 53 years ago, sets the tone for the extraordinarily frank essays in China Security. He sees the biggest winner, after the North Korean regime, as Japan unless China acts firmly against Pyongyang. "If China continues its ambiguous policies on the North Korean nuclear issue, the US will encourage Japan to become nuclearised." Zhu Feng, director of the international security program at Beijing University, says a recent opinion poll shows 44per cent of Chinese people dislike North Korea more than any other nation. "The Chinese leadership now understands it may have deluded itself about the Kim Jong il Government pursuing a good neighbourly policy that Pyongyang would gradually be won over by China's kindness," he says. Mr Zhu says that while Beijing's support of UN resolutions against Pyongyang's nuclear testing is seen in North Korea as "an act of treachery by its socialist big brother", when the test happened, "in Beijing, ire turned into fury. It was no less than a slap in China's face". The important meeting of the central committee of the Communist Party three months ago proclaimed that a nuclear North Korea was a formidable challenge to China's "core interests" a phrase previously used only about Taiwan independence. Chinese help would be need to kill Kim. South Korea is an immature state whose power should be limited to the extent possible. South Korea is not an ally, but merely a state that must be "engaged." American policy in the Korean peninsula should be aimed at moving North Korea closer into the orbit of the People's Republic of China. The only valid alternative is the total collapse of the North Korean regime and the return of immediate full citizenship of all north Koreans in the Republic of Korea. South Korea should not be allowed to extend its position and power by administering North Korea as a colony. South Korea is too volatile a state too obsessed by Arabesque conspiracies and fetishism for revenge to be trusted as a regional power Don't Blame actual War Criminals: A Korean government commission cleared 83 of 148 Koreans convicted by the Allies of war crimes during World War II. The commission ruled that the Koreans, who were categorized as Class B and Class C war criminals, were in fact victims of Japanese imperialism. Of the 148 Koreans convicted of war crimes, some 23 would eventually be executed. Blame the Children of Political Enemies: The panel, launched in May last year, was formed under a special law enacted in 2004 to seek out collaborators who endorsed Japan's colonization of the peninsula. Another 104 member presidential committee was launched in August with the mission of seizing assets owned by the descendants of the pro Japan collaborators.
