MasterCard, which handles payments for 2 billion cardholders and tens of millions of merchants, uses that information to generate real time data on consumer trends, available more quickly that regular government statistics. "It is an incredibly fast growing area for us," Ann Cairns, who heads MasterCard business outside North America, said in an interview, stressing that the company respects cardholder privacy, using anonymous data rather than personal information. Start of sidebar. Skip to end of sidebar. MasterCard does not give figures for its information services products but "other revenues", which include the sale of data, grew 22 per cent in the first quarter of 2014 to $341 million, outpacing the growth of total revenue dominated by payments processing, which rose 14 per cent to $2.177 billion. Cairns said clients for the data include retailers, banks, governments, with MasterCard tailoring it to their needs. "Retailers are fantastic at using the data they have available about how people shop in their store, how their inventory turns over, but what they don know is what happens outside their store," she said. "The data we got is ubiquitous across the whole market. We can help retailers see what they need to do to capture more sales." Cairns, 57, a statistician by training who joined MasterCard in 2011 after helping manage the disposal of Lehman Brothers assets in Europe, revels in the insights real time card data can provide, such as London popularity as the world top travel destination and a rise in spending on experiences such as eating out or going on holiday rather than shopping in stores. MasterCard has recorded a spike in spending in Brazil on groceries and a drop in spending on luxury goods as the price of food has risen ahead of the World Cup, she said, the kind of insight valued by companies such as Nike and Adidas that are hoping to sell $US300 soccer boots during the competition. While MasterCard expands in "big data", Cairns sees no slowdown in its traditional business of processing payments, with plenty of potential for growth as 85 per cent of consumer transactions are still made by cash or cheque. "Moving money and doing it safely and securely is so deeply cared about by so many people around the world that it will be a business that has fantastic value now and for years to come," said Cairns, who previously worked at Citigroup and ABN Amro. London based Cairns, whose division accounts for 60 per cent of MasterCard business, said the expansion of e commerce and emerging markets is driving growth, noting that 2.5 billion people are still without access to financial services. She predicted that shoppers in many developing economies will leapfrog plastic cards and go direct to payment via smartphone adding MasterCard is providing "digital wallet" technology to retailers and banks and does not see their own moves into the payments field as a competitive threat. She also played down the challenge from other new rivals such as Kenya money transfer service M Pesa, owned by Safaricom, and eBay online payments unit PayPal, which is trying to move into physical transactions. "We run at such a sub infrastructure level around the world. It is very difficult to replicate our network," she said, adding that M Pesa had built a branch network to receive and make payments in Kenya, but that would not work in countries where there is more established financial infrastructure. "Most counties in the world have ATM networks and point of sale networks. Because they are so ubiquitous, that model won fly," she said. Meanwhile, MasterCard is entrenching its technology in other emerging markets, for example developing a biometrics based card used for benefits payments in South Africa and working with the Nigeria government on a pilot to overlay payment technology on a new national identity card..

It's been a long day. You drop your keys in the dish beside the front door fall into the nearest armchair and ease your aching feet out of your shoes. Sounds like the end of any working day, doesn't it? Well it doesn't have to be. MBT claim that shoes should have warnings on them due to the damaging effect of traditional footwear on our health. Now they wouldn't be the first company to lay claim to revolutionary technology in order to boost sales but what make MBT different is the scientific data and research that has been done supporting their argument. What is more is that they have continued to research the effects of traditional versus MBT footwear in order to further improve their product and our health. So what is different about MBT that makes their anti shoe beneficial to our health and shows traditional footwear to be damaging? Once you take a look at the MBT anti shoe, you will immediately see the difference. The MBT anti shoe has a curved sole so that the heel and toe aren't sitting flat on the ground. Basically, MBT research has shown that our bodies were not designed to maintain a flat foot while walking. If you watch a person walking in slow motion you will see that the foot flexes creating a rolling gait. In traditional footwear, the foot is kept flat placing pressure on the heel and this pressure is transferred up through the ankle, knee and hip joints. Further more, traditional footwear acts as a stabilizer so the leg and torso muscles become lax. They no longer need to work to support us in an upright manner. The weakening of these muscles is associated with back and neck pain. MBT anti shoes actively stimulate correct posture and in so doing assist in strengthening those supporting muscles. Over the years, we have forgotten that pain is a signal that something is wrong. Maybe it is time we adopted a healthier attitude and started wearing MBT anti shoes. 308497 033 Air Jordan 4 Green Glow Dark Grey Green Glow Cement Grey Black ,Air Jordan 3Lab5 Black Metallic Silver 653972 500 Kobe 9 EM 136064 406 Air Jordan 3 Powder Blue Dark Powder Blue Black Wolf Grey White 338153 991 Nike Air Jordan 3 III Retro 2001 Black Cement Grey 638471 101 Air Jordan 1 KO High OG Chicago 528895 023 Air Jordan 11 Retro Low Infrared 23 Air Jordan 5Lab3 Silver 528895 023 Air Jordan 11 Retro Low Infrared 23 136027 035 Women Size Air Jordan 5 Oreo Black Cool Grey White They are indisputably the Brat Pack of premier winter league football. If Hollywood, in a flight of fancy, happened to commission a script on them, they would boast nicknames that would roll off the tongue like those of the Mafia Mob Regan "Tight lipped" Cameron, Bill "I Needle You" Robertson, Danny "Baby faced Assassin" Wilson, Lee "That Kid Rocks" Jackson and Shaun "It Doesn Matter" Peta. Not long after the team buses clear The Gorge, all hell will break loose as Bluewater Napier City Rovers and Wairarapa United run the gauntlet in the 2011 ASB Chatham Cup soccer final. All the talk in the build up will become cheap as Napier will attempt to etch their name on the 89 year old knockout cup for the fifth time, while Wairarapa will be in the hunt for their maiden bragging rights. For the Hawke Bay outfit, their season is built on the proud foundation of a solid defence that has conceded only 19 goals in 21 Central League and cup matches to date this season. "Yes, and we conceded four goals in the first away Central League game against Olympic," Rovers skipper Cameron says nonchalantly. The Brat Pack, who love a laugh and are not averse to a pint after a game, have no qualms about slipping on their game faces to assume the mantle of the grim reaper. Show them space and they stitch it up in the blink of an eye. Put the ball in the air and they devour it like a venus flytrap. The pack has a potent concoction of experience and youth. Quite often the opposition will stir them, but seldom do the Beefeaters walk off the park shaken. "We fight for each other. If one drops out, another person will move in to play the same role," says 300 plus league game veteran leftback Cameron. With close to two decades of Central League experience, the 35 year old Napier salesman for Stewart Electrical Supplies reveals the common denominator is their collective aversion to conceding goals. Having player/assistant coach Robertson and Wilson inside him, with Jackson marshalling the right flank, Cameron is conscious of how much work they leave for goalkeeper Peta. If the opposition score, a few quiet but firm words are exchanged among the boys as they lift their morale to stop the rot setting in. Among the few blemishes this winter is the don from Wairarapa, who have won the Rovers respect with two wins. "Wairarapa are definitely a good side," Cameron says of the Phil Keinzley coached and Adam Cowan captained team who boast several overseas internationals with a United Nations look about them. "In the two games against us, they have had only six shots at goal and scored three times and are pretty clinical in front of the goal," he says. But the former Hawke Bay United defender, who is married to Shelley and has two girls, Charlotte, 5, and Georgia, 3, adds they are not in awe of their rivals despite the formidable presence of Fijian international Waisake Sabatu and elusive ex Bay United striker Seule Soromon. "The goal Sabatu scored was a lack of concentration from us he had a free run and no one followed," says Cameron, who was an injured spectator in the 2 1 loss here on June 26. "We have to put our bodies on the line," he says of the big rig centreback, who has a penchant for finding the net from free kicks and corners. Cameron, who started playing the game at the age of 5 in Hastings because his parents, Sue and Mike Cameron, played for the now defunct Flaxmere AFC, believes his placid demeanour is a balancing factor in the backline, where Englishman Robertson aggressiveness is the other extreme. "Sometimes I have to calm him down a little bit," he says, but stresses Robertson has the experience to decipher when to go in hard and when to ease off if the officials feathers start to become a little ruffled. Cameron, who also played 100 Central League games for Taradale AFC, feels Wilson, Peta and Jackson are responding amiably to him and Robertson. "You know Shaun is still pretty young," he says, adding Peta is evolving into a more territorial keeper who parries and punches but understands he has the right of way through his defenders in the 18m box, too. Robertson, who turned 27 on Monday, hastens to add he is aggressive but certainly not dirty. "I played in the UK, where referees are more lenient and where you need to look after yourself or else you won cut it there," he says, adding the Rovers have made their point and pride themselves on their enviable record this winter. "I said to Danny halfway through the competition that our goal as the back five was to try to have the best record in the league. "That solid platform has given us the chance of winning games and moving forward," Robertson says, as the Napier outfit employs a bunker mentality with sporadic counter attacks from broken passages of play. Wilson baby face is deceptive, Robertson believes, considering the striker cum centreback is in fact a year older than him. In just his first season in the premier winter league, the Englishman says the backline is looking forward to the Bay United season in the ASB Premiership in summer. 308497 033 Air Jordan 4 Green Glow Dark Grey Green Glow Cement Grey Black,Now, the reason which makes them perfect choice is: the sneakers get you the perfect shape with the best features for your all activities.
